Sanford Glantz, MD, FACEP

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Glantz became Chief Medical Officer of Keystone Healthcare in 2014. His role is to unify the medical leadership of Keystone Healthcare and assist in business development, revenue cycle management, recruitment and retention, CME and credentialing, medical-legal issues, and mentoring the leaders.

Dr. Glantz graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1981 and completed his general surgery residency at Bassett Hospital. He is board certified in emergency medicine and an ACEP fellow. Prior to his current position, he was VP of Medical Affairs for Keystone Healthcare, performing similar roles but on a part-time basis since 1998.

Dr. Glantz served as director of a Level 2 trauma center and core faculty of an emergency medicine residency. He has 37 years of experience with EMS, countywide trauma, and air evacuation systems. He is also on the faculty at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

His interests include history, photography, and travel.

Elizabeth James, MD, FACEP

Director of Emergency Medicine & Telehealth Strategic Solutions

Dr. James was promoted to Director of Emergency Medicine & Telehealth Strategic Solutions after serving as Regional Medical Director for several years. Dr. James provides clinical direction to all emergency department physicians, works with client hospitals to improve key performance metrics, and oversees Keystone Telehealth operations.
Since joining Keystone Healthcare, she has been at the forefront of bringing creative solutions to the Emergency Department programs, including patient flow assessments, clinician peer reviews, 360 reviews, patient satisfaction initiatives, cultural competence education, and telehealth.

Dr. James completed her medical training at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky. She then completed her residency in emergency medicine at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. Dr. James became a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians in 2015 and has worked for Keystone in various capacities since 2010.

Her previous roles include Medical Director for Natchez Regional Medical Center, Marion general Hospital, Highland Community Hospital, Jefferson Davis Community Hospital, Walthall General Hospital, Magee General Hospital, and N. Mississippi Medical Services at West Point.

Dr. James is board certified in emergency medicine and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA).

Hatem Mourad, MD, SFHM

Director of Hospital Medicine and Vice President of Business Development (MD)

Dr. Mourad is the Director of Hospital Medicine and Vice President of Business Development at Keystone Healthcare. As Director of Hospital Medicine, he provides clinical direction to all HM physicians and works with client hospitals to improve key performance metrics. He also directly manages all site medical directors in Keystone Healthcare’s Hospital Medicine portfolio.

Working closely with the documentation and executive teams, Dr. Mourad ensures all clinicians are equipped to excel at their positions, and promotes the success of Keystone Healthcare’s programs and client hospitals.

As VP of Business Development, Dr. Mourad is involved in all new business opportunities for Keystone Healthcare. Those include EM, HM, telehealth, and urgent care. He provides insight into the development of new programs and makes recommendations to ensure the continued success of Keystone’s clinicians and client hospitals.

Dr. Mourad has worked as a full-time hospitalist since 2008. In 2010, he began an urgent care practice in Northwest FL. He is a partner of that practice, which has grown to include 5 locations. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at St. Christopher’s College of Medicine in England in 2005 and completed a Family Medicine Residency at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ, in 2008. He is board certified in family medicine and is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine, American Board of Family Medicine, and American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Mourad loves the outdoors, including camping, scuba diving, and competitive shooting. He is a car and firearm enthusiast who also loves new technology and gadgets.

Darryl Wenner, DO

Director of EMS

As Director of EMS, Dr. Wenner works closely with Keystone Healthcare’s partner hospitals and the Keystone Telehealth team to strengthen alignment and improve communication and partnerships between EMS and emergency departments. He maintains strong relationships with all existing NY facilities.

From 2011 to 2014, Dr. Wenner served in a family practice residency at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Since 2014, he has been a fulltime Keystone Healthcare EM provider at multiple NY sites.
He earned a BS from SUNY Albany in 2007, a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011, and is a member of the AOA and ACOFP.

Dr. Wenner’s hobbies and interests include spending time with his wife and three amazing step-children and outdoor activities such as boating, shooting, and hunting.

Dawn Patterson, CFNP, ACNP, ENP

Director of Advanced Practice Providers

Dawn joined Keystone Healthcare in 2012 as the Director of Advanced Practice Providers. Her role includes managing all operational and clinical areas involved in the utilization, recruitment, and management of all APPs with Keystone. She also collaborates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a telehealth service line. Dawn actively participates in operations and strategic workforce teams and assists with provider recruitment.

Dawn has 30 years of experience as a registered nurse and 26 years as a nurse practitioner with a focus on emergency and hospital medicine. She’s a board-certified FNP, ACNPO, and ENP. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in nursing and became an RN in 1990. Dawn attended the University of Mississippi at the Medical Center in 1993 for a Master’s as FNP and continued her studies in 1998 as acute-care NP with an ED track.

Dawn is a member of the American Nurses Association. Since joining Keystone Healthcare, she has also obtained the newly developed certification as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner.

In her free time, Dawn loves to travel.

Tye Murray, RN

Nurse Liaison

Tye has been with Keystone Healthcare since 2012. As Nurse Liaison, Tye cultivates and fosters client relationships by supporting client services in all functional areas, including emergency and hospital medicine service lines. She has constant communication and collaboration with clients and provides client-specific new-provider orientation. Tye supports medical directors by assisting with related projects and attending medical and nursing staff meetings.

She works closely with our client nursing administration and Keystone Healthcare medical directors to evaluate nursing policy and ensure regulatory compliance. Most importantly, she sees that our standards of care are met. She is a member of Keystone Healthcare’s Patient Flow Team and evaluates client facilities for patient flow opportunities. Tye also manages the Keystone Healthcare Hospital and Emergency Medicine Program Coordinators, Patient Care Coordinators, and Nurse Liaisons in other regions.

Tye has over 20 years of experience in critical care bedside nursing, which was primarily in emergency departments. She has also worked in ICU and PACU settings. For the past eight years, she has worked in healthcare operations and management.

Tye is a Louisiana native and currently resides just across the Mississippi River in Vidalia, LA. She enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at Cathedral School, watching her sons’ sporting events, hunting, kayaking, and loves LSU football.

Gem Gibbons, RN, BSN

Nurse Liaison

Gem Gibbons has been with keystone Healthcare since November 2019. As Nurse Liaison with UAHS, she provides physician and departmental support to BRMC and OGH. Gem works with the leadership and administration teams to optimize flow and drive metrics, and support and assist with employee clinical education programs such as Charge Nurse meetings. She also helps optimize the layout of the facility, working with each department to organize rooms and equipment and training staff on proper usage.

Gem has 20 years of experience working in an emergency department, 10 years in pediatric care, and 19 years in a medical laboratory. Her previous positions include Director of Critical Care Services for Emergency and ICU departments, as well as a flight nurse. During her education, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an Associate in Medical Laboratory Technology.

Gem Gibbons is an avid fan of ice hockey and loves listening to music and spending time at the beach.

Melissa King, DNP, FNP-BC, ENP-BC

Vice President, Telehealth, Patient Access & Connected Care

Melissa King joined Keystone Healthcare on November 1, 2019, as the Vice President of Telehealth, Access, and Connected Care.

Dr. King serves on several state, regional, and national boards or committees representing telehealth and advanced practice registered nurses, including serving as President of the Mississippi Board of Nursing and the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners’ Southeast Regional Director.

Previously, she served as Chief Clinical Officer for eMD Telehealth Solutions, Assistant Vice President of Telehealth for Ochsner Health Systems, and Director of both TelEmergency and Advanced Practice Providers for the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

She has testified for the Mississippi Senate around the standard of care for telehealth and remains active in policy development at each legislative session. Dr. King has several publications related to the impact of telehealth and advanced practice provider practices with continued research focused on access, quality, outcomes, and satisfaction. She has made numerous presentations regionally and nationally regarding the utilization of advanced practice providers, telehealth, healthcare quality, and cost-effective models of care. She serves as an expert for medical-legal consulting in her field.

Dr. King has received several awards and appointments, including 2019 Nurse of Distinction, 2019 Emergency Nurse Practitioner of the Year, 2018 Healthcare Hero, 2016 Nurse Innovator and Researcher of the year, and 2015 Advanced Practice Provider of the Year. Additionally, Dr. King has served as editor for publications related to critical care medicine and pharmacology.

Simal Patel, MD

System Medical Director, HCA & UAHS

Dr. Patel has been a member of the Keystone Healthcare team since 2011. He has served as the HCA System Medical Director and UAHS System Medical Director at Keystone Healthcare since 2016. In his role as Medical Director, Dr. Patel assists in developing protocols to aid in better flow of emergency rooms across the system. He also assists in the development and startup of new programs and contracts. Dr. Patel schedules ER coverage throughout the Northeast Territory and provides evaluations and consultations for the Southern Territory contract.

Before joining Keystone Healthcare, Dr. Patel has served and continues to serve as medical director for several MS hospitals, EMS Medical Director for a wide range of fire departments, and Chief of Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist Medicine at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville, NY.

Dr. Patel was Chief Resident during his residency and was awarded the Resident Teacher Award by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. He is fully board certified.

In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys golf, skiing, and traveling.

Glenn Adams

Chief Executive Officer

Glenn co-founded Keystone Healthcare Partners in 1996 and as Keystone’s Chief Executive Officer, he is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the company.

 

For 24 years, Glenn served as President and on the Board of Directors, during which time he managed client services, sales, business development, and client retention initiatives. In close collaboration with Andrew Portelli, current Chairman of the Board of Directors, Glenn has grown the Keystone Healthcare family of companies from its infancy to a corporation with three divisional offices located in Florida, Tennessee, and Texas, more than 60 administrative employees and 250+ physicians and APPs.

 

From 1986 to 1996, Glenn served in several positions, including Director of Operations and Regional President for NES Healthcare Group, then a $135 million revenue emergency staffing and management company. At NES, Glenn worked in all aspects of emergency department staffing, including physician recruitment, scheduling, screening and enrollment, sales, and business development.

 

Glenn is a member of the Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA), Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM), Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA), and participates in national American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) events.

 

A native of Patchogue, NY, Glenn is married, has two children, and enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys a variety of outdoor activities.

Donna Ervast

President, Keystone Corporate Services

Donna has been with Keystone Healthcare since 2004. She manages company corporate operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and service. Donna has many years of industry experience in operations, human resources, board of director relations and project management. With Keystone Healthcare, she held the positions of Chief Operating Officer and VP of Administration and Finance.

From 2000 to 2004, Donna worked for EmCare, first as the Southeast Regional Manager, followed by VP of Client Administration. She worked for NES from 1988 to 1998, where she held every operations position from credentialing to President. She worked in both the Northeast and Southeast regions.

Victoria Shoemaker

Chief Revenue Cycle Officer

Victoria joined Keystone Healthcare in 2015. She is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management.

Victoria served as Chief Operating Officer of Schumacher Group’s Dallas-based billing operation from 2003 to 2012. From 1993 to 2003, she was Vice President of Operations for Code Rite, a medical coding and transcription company owned by ACS, a $3.6 billion IT and BPO company, also in Dallas.

A certified Six Sigma black belt, Victoria spent the last few years consulting for Randy Wilson Consulting, LLC, helping revenue cycle organizations across the country improve performance using collaborative Six Sigma methodology.

Victoria’s passion is improving the patient experience in the healthcare revenue cycle by meeting patient needs across the continuum of care.

David Brown, CPA

Controller

David joined Keystone Healthcare in 2014 as Controller. He manages the accounting department, including establishing and maintaining accounting controls, policies and procedures, budgeting, and forecasting. He has over 25 years’ experience in accounting and finance in the healthcare industry.

From 2010 to 2014, David served as the Chief Financial Officer for Gulfside Hospice and Pasco Palliative Care. Before that, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for Integrity Pharmacy Services.

David graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in accounting. David has been a certified public accountant in the state of Florida since 1987.

Heather Norris

Senior Vice President, Revenue Cycle

Heather joined Keystone Healthcare in 2015. She has over 20 years of revenue cycle experience, primarily in emergency medicine, working for some of the largest billing companies in the industry.

In 2003, she joined Schumacher Group’s Dallas billing operation. In more than 11 years there, Heather managed various areas of the revenue cycle, eventually serving as Vice President of Medical Billing. Before working at Schumacher, Heather managed multiple clients as an Account Manager for Martin Gottlieb & Associates.

Heather’s passion is ensuring patients receive the same level of care in the revenue cycle as they receive in the emergency room.

Tanya Lloyd

Senior Vice President, Operations

Tanya has been with Keystone since 2002 and currently serves as Vice President of Revenue Cycle. She has executive oversight of Keystone’s coding operations, collaborates closely with the documentation education team, and manages payer relationships. She is also instrumental in many ongoing initiatives to optimize the revenue cycle.

Tanya has over 20 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, holding nearly every position in the business office setting. This provides her an unrivaled advantage in meeting the demands of an ever-changing industry. Tanya is CPC and CEDC certified and is also a member of the Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA).

Tanya and her husband Sonny live in Jacksonville, Florida with their three dogs. They have two adult daughters, Kayla and Madison. Tanya enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, cooking, traveling, reading, shooting, and boating/fishing. Tanya can be reached at tlloyd@keystonehealthcare.com.

Melissa Jackson

Vice President, Revenue Cycle

Melissa joined the Keystone Healthcare team as Vice President of Revenue Cycle in January 2019 after a decade with Schumacher Clinical Partners.

At Schumacher, she was responsible for $1.8 billion in receivables as Vice President of Accounts Receivable. She has 10 years of revenue cycle experience in both emergency and hospital medicine, and 33 years in customer service. Prior to Schumacher, Melissa spent 24 years as Director of Customer Service for Eljer, one of the most prominent names in plumbing fixtures.

Melissa’s passion is working with her team to provide excellent patient satisfaction while driving results through revenue cycle optimization.

Executive Vice President, Business Development and Strategy

As Keystone’s Executive Vice President of Business Development and Strategy, Chelsea assists the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Team with the development, communication, and execution of corporate strategic initiatives. Chelsea is also responsible for creating demand for Keystone’s hospital-based services by developing strategic relationships with partners and potential clients as well as assisting in the development of a strong sales pipeline. Chelsea previously served as Director of Sales for OnStrategy, where she worked directly with Keystone’s Executive Team to lead us through the process of designing and executing our strategic plan. Chelsea holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nevada and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Marketing from California Polytechnic University.
