Keystone Healthcare Partners Welcomes New VP of Telehealth, Patient Access, & Connected Care, Melissa King, DNP, FNP-BC, ENP-BC


Memphis, TN, May 15, 2020 – Keystone Healthcare Partners (Keystone Healthcare), a leading provider of Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine physician management services and staffing solutions for hospitals, recently welcomed a new Vice President of Telehealth, Patient Access, and Connected Care, Melissa King, DNP, FNP-BC, ENP-BC, who will lead and manage the Company’s telehealth programs.

In this new role, Dr. King will support Keystone Healthcare’s recent geographic and service line expansions. She will spearhead and build upon Keystone Healthcare’s telehealth program, Keystone TelehealthTM, which currently includes Virtual Case Management, Tele-Triage, Hospital Lightning Rounds, and ED2Home.

Dr. King joins Keystone Healthcare as a telehealth pioneer and has been instrumental in developing and maintaining diverse telehealth programs across the southern region. She has served on several state, regional, and national boards and committees representing telehealth and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, including through her current role as President of the Mississippi Board of Nursing.

Dr. King is the immediate past Southeast Regional Director for the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners. Additional previous roles include Director of Advance Practice Providers and TelEmergency for University of Mississippi Medical Center, Chief Clinical Officer for eMD, and Vice President of Telehealth for Ochsner Health Systems. In addition to this extensive background, Dr. King also serves as an expert for medical legal consulting. She has testified for the Mississippi Senate around standard of care for telehealth, and has several publications related to the impact of telehealth and advanced practice provider (APP) practices focused on access, quality, outcomes, and satisfaction.

She has made numerous presentations regarding utilization of APPs, telehealth, healthcare quality, and cost-effective models of care. Notable awards and appointments for Dr. King include 2019 Nurse of Distinction, 2019 Emergency Nurse Practitioner of the Year, 2018 Healthcare Hero, 2016 Nurse Innovator and Researcher of the Year, and 2015 Advanced Practice Provider of the Year. Additionally, she has served as editor for publications related to critical care medicine and pharmacology.
